Ipod touch LCD

Anyone know if the LCD for an Ipod touch 2nd gen 8g will work with the new Ipod touch 3rd gen 8g.I know the mid frame and digitizer are the same just not sure about the LCD's.

If you look at the parts catalogue for the ipod 3rd gen and the 2nd gen they show the same part numbers. That leads me to believe that they are the same part. The only difference between the 8GB models is the operating system. You can check this on amazon.com
