Looking at a 2nd hand 2530p with a 12m warrenty

Looking at replacing my Asus 1005HA netbook with a more powerful but small full laptop.



I have a chance at a HP 2530p 1.86 c2d 4gb 120gb hdd Vista



Any advice on it?



PS I do plan on getting Win7 Ulti 64bit on it within the 1st week.

If it has a good battery then it's good to go. Can see tips and performance potential in HP Elitebook 2530p Owner's Lounge



Worth also considering a 2730P tablet, which can be had for ~$400 on ebay. No ODD/2.5" caddy but does have a BOE Hydis high-NIT LCD option.

It's worth pointing out that there are unwhitelisted modded BIOS available for a variety of Lenovo notebooks, including the X200. You can find them at at The Board Room website - perhaps not based on the most recent BIOS versions but these have all been tested.

It means you can plug any expansion card into any mPCIe slot inside the laptop even if the card has not been sanctioned by the manufacturer (i.e. whitelisted). For instance, if you plug a Wifi mPCIe card of other than the original model into one of these laptops, the BIOS will not allow them to either boot or access the card. The "unwhitelist" BIOS mod removes this check and let's you use your mPCIe slots to their full potential.
