The MSI Overclocking Thread! (Stricly For OC)
This means I will not be held responsible for any damages or failures that may occur in the preparation and over clocking process.
A lot of you here know the risks, a lot do not, the best way to use the over clocking utilities is to increase the FSB in increments of 10! No more no less, don’t try overloading it, don’t push it because some guy said it can do it, everyone’s chips are different, and you must remember temperature monitoring is VITAL!
First of all, you will need:
CPUID Hardware Monitor. (Freeware temperature monitoring tool!)
Found Here
http://www.cpuid.com/download/hwmoni..._114_setup.exe
Second, tools to stress the system, this could be prime95 or Wprime tool.
Wprime 2.0 here
http://www.wprime.net/?q=download&f=wprime_200.zip
Prime 95 here
http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=103
Wprime is easiest to use, just boot it up and hit 1024, and I am unfamiliar with prime 95 but torture test is very helpful! (Appreciate any contributions on how to use this feature.)
Ok, as stated, here are the instructions for over clocking the GT725 via the program known as setFSB. (Quad included)
It is designed to work on the GT725 (mainly MSI 1722 models with the Intel P,45 chipset)
Here are the requirements for software and firmware to over clock.
You will need:
1. The required bios with the number: A1722IG6.10S and can be found on the link posted below.
http://rapidshare.com/files/233584112/1.0S.zip
2. The EC version (for touch sensors) is 1722EG61.429, found below:
http://rapidshare.com/files/233584578/4.29.zip
3. SetFSB (Set Front Side Bus) from the website below.
http://www13.plala.or.jp/setfsb/down...2_2_123_90.zip
The bios and EC firmware are from the 1722 Barebones or gx720 I believe but I’m not sure (hopefully someone can confirm)
Now that everything is in order, download all files, put them in a neat place so you have access to them.
Firstly, go into bios, load all bios defaults and disable C-State.
Second, you need to perform a bios update and ec firmware update, so perform the update or flash, whatever it is known as, when complete, again go into bios and load bios defaults and disable C-State.
Since I’m using a similar version on my machine, not the MSI one, I have had not needed to update the bios so I do not know how, can someone chip in here? Appreciate it.
What will happen is, you will loose function to the turbo mode on the touchpad (we can re-flash bios and EC firmware after, but I would suggest finding the bios and EC firmware before attempting this!)
When the flash is complete, we now have unlocked the limits that the MSI has in place (for the quad and duo!) but this means we can now begin slowly increasing clocks.
Start your SetFSB PROGRAM, and where it tells you to select PLL, you need to select the code.
ICS9LPRS113AKLF
When this code is selected, click the GetFSB and the values should be read and you’re FSB and core clock should be successfully read. At this point you have access to RAM speed and FSB as well as PCI speed, don’t touch the PCI speed, we do not need this at all and is best left untouched!
You can see the PLL version is input, and the GETFSB button has been pressed to reveal information
As stated before, over clocking takes time, and patience! It also requires you to be tolerant, if your Laptop cant handle the changes, don’t force it dam it!
Also it is suggested to read SETFSB read me, it has a lot of commands etc that can be used, you could even create run scripts
People have used this method (mainly folks over at gt725.de) and it works again OCing, too high and too fast, the system can crash.
Again all is at your OWN RISK!
Ok, so with the quad (duo core are just as important but you guys have OC ability) Take it up 10 mhz each increment until you reach say, 2.2ghz and run a test (Wprime1024 or prime95 + HWMonitor) then to 2.3ghz then 2.4ghz and so on, Asus’ record is 2.8ghz, There limit for this was also the ram, just like our limit is 2.4 so far because of ram, WE HAVE TO FIND THIS RAM TOOL!
Keep HWmonitor open at all time, make sure you monitor the temps.
And good luck over clocking!
Credits go to Msaw and Tester in the gt725 forum
Good Luck All.

Its German so it may need translation tools, but these folk tested the method and it ran sucessfully.

A user named rupp3r here in the MSI forum has created a tutorial to benefit us greatly! The tutorial covers installation of 9.6 ATI drivers which supposedly give great increase in gaming performance.
http://rupp3r.free.fr/gt725/tutodriveren.htm
It should also grant some nice results overclocking with Overdrive (Tutorial soon to be made for OD clocking)
**************************************
Personal Message - Taking in factors from some more recent experience, i can conclude that Wprime does not really stress the CPU components much, but rather uses the full power of the CPU that is available, to stress the CPU and RAM, the tools i reccomend are (Prime95 - works for CPU and memory i believe and gives them a thorough testing, and OCCT test which requires all the stock heating paste and pads replacing as this test cooks the Laptop harder then anything i've seen, also if you do run OCCT, you will come to learn that the MSI has 1 more fan stage that you probably thing doesn't exist, but when temps hit 90C on the Northbridge, this stage kicks in and sounds like it almost doubles the RPM of the fan - This test burns, be warned!)
************Tutorial********************
The basics of overdrive.
Overdrive is an in built system tool, built into catalyst that allows you to overclock ATI cards (Nvidia have similar but i will cover later), this, theoretically should be supported by MSI due to the abilities they give you to overclock the system by default, meaning this should not break anyway warrenty, only by flashing the card v bios are you really stretching the card itself and leaving it prone to damage.
Step 1) Double click the ATI button on the right hand side of the task bar.
Step 2) When it opens you should see simple messages asking if you want basic or advanced settings, set it to advanced (its not really advanced by the way)
Step 3) Click on overdrive and click the lock that will bring up a warning promt,
Step 4)Go ahead an accept that, now you will notice that the greyed out information has become active and can now be edited with.
So just go ahead and slowly slide the bars up until you either experience problems when testing custom clocks, or you begin to artifact, i noticed 8.6 drivers had some problems trying to take them up to full speed, but all the 9.* drivers can handle 550 and 900 without sweating, but be careful either way.
This can add a few frames here and there and shouldn't be used 24/7 but if you really must
***************Tutorial***************
Relocking Overdrive
Well i know your probably wondering if this is do-able or not, but just for future reference, it is
Do relock the overdrive feature, there are a few simple steps.
Step 1) Open catalyst control centre and hit the preferences tab, when the menu appears click restore factory defaults.
Step 2) Press the windows key and R button on your keyboard, and type regedit in the run box.
Step 3) Follow the registry bellow until you see Overdrive5.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > ATI > ACE > Settings > Dashboard > Graphics > Overdrive5
When you click overdrive5 the two registries (Default) and TimeUnlocked appear, double click time unlocked and type never then reboot, simple
Great work btw

In order to use a quad core CPU on MS-1722 you need to update BIOS. Older BIOSes (before 1.0n) don't support quads. I didn't check what BIOS GX725 use, but I can tell you that updating to the latest 1.0s (you can download it from the first post of cataclysm) will do the job.
AtTouchpad problem on my VAIO laptop
I have a problem with my touchpad on my VAIO F13 laptop. I can't get it to work (tried almost everything). So I decided to low-format my HDD with diskpart's clean all command - and I did. When I then rebooted the laptop with the Windows 7 DVD in the optical drive and the DVD loaded - at the first screen, when the mouse/touchpade pointer shows itself the touchpad was working for about two seconds (I was able to move the pointer!). But then it stopped again. It's like something (really don't know what because the whole HDD is low-formatted using Diskpart's Clean all command) disabled the touchpad after the two seconds. Maybe this could be a hind: when I firsto got my brand new VAIO I disabled the touchpad after a few days and then later one quick-formated the HDD when installing an other version of Windows 7 x64 (not the preinstalled one). I tought that maybe it's possible that the "disabled touchpad setting" got saved on some hidden place (hidden partition?) so I low-formated it now to get to the bottom of this mystery. But it's still not working. At least I know that it's not a hardware problem. Does anyone know what could it be and how could I re-enable it again?
Thank you!

Do a PROPER system install from your Sony Recovery Discs to bring everything back to original factory settings. If the touchpad does not work in that environment, then you have a real issue going on.
Do you even have recovery discs?

Usb Ports Are Not Working(recognized) In Dell Latitude D600 Laptop
I am new comer in this forum. I have a problem in my Dell Latitude D600 laptop. The laptop has 2 USB ports and they were working fine.I used pendrives and usb modem at this ports. But one day suddenly the two usb ports were not working.
To resolve the problem I did some experiments, they are below....
1. Properly cleaned the USB ports and motherboard.
2. Reinstalled operating system. ( Installed Windows XP and later I installed Windows 7)
3. Also installed driver for USB 2.0.
4. Installed motherboard driver properly. Also downloaded updated driver from dell website and installed.
5. Bios settings set to default and usb options set to on position.
6. Also visited this website for details...

Does anyone has these problems with their winter (silver aluminum) dv7 or dv6?
2. Click pad is slightly uneven, same issue
3. Aluminum chassis has slight scuff marks if looked on under certain lighting conditions
4. Most importantly...hard drive periodically making clicking noises
If you do, or had those issues, would you consider returning?

1. The keyboard has a bit of play in it if you push it down from one end. It may even be there because of softer shock resistant plastic material under it. It does not cause any performance degradation.
2. The click-pad is seated in a form fitting rectangular indentation. It is not uneven. I guess if the fitting was not just right, it might appear uneven.
3. No scuff marks on the chassis. However, its design itself would make the scuff marks, if any, less obvious.
4. With the solid state drive in my computer, there are no noises or sounds from the drive.
If the problem that you notice are bothersome, cause dissatisfaction or result in performance issues, by all means contact HP to resolve your concern.

System recovery discs- what if DVD drive fails?
I don't expect a situation like this to occur, but I figure, what the hell, might as well see if something can be done in the unlikely event it does happen.
Reply 1 : System recovery discs- what if DVD drive fails?
If your DVD has failed and it's a single point of failure-then i think you have just that! Can you put the distribution on a seperate disk? Yes. Get an external drive or partition your disk and put it on. I'd do a practise run so the failure that is a concern to you isn't the first time.
Personally, I've never needed to replace the system disk data. I am unsure how it could fail.

- Borrow an optical drive from a friend/associate with a ThinkPad. This is easy for me since many of my friends have ThinkPads.
- Use an external optical drive, either purchased (around $40) or borrowed.
- Use a USB to SATA adapter with a desktop optical drive. The converters are around $15.
- Buy a new optical drive on eBay.
I wouldn't worry about it. I, on the other hand, failed to make recovery discs and then blew away the recovery partition. Which gets to be a problem if I want to sell the laptop.

Very High Pitched and Super Quiet beep/sound from DV6
I've had this notebook since September and its awesome. But there is a very annoying issue I have always had with it. When I'm using it in a very quiet environment I can hear it emit a high pitched beep type sound every second. Its extremely quiet but its one of those sounds your brain suddenly notices and you can't stop hearing it - like when some old CRT monitors and tube TV's are left on. I usually only hear it when the PC is idle or doing very basic tasks like I'm doing now typing this. I thought for sure it was something else in my home for the first month until I was using the notebook someplace else and heard the same annoying sound. When I put my ear up to the notebook I can hear it better and that its somehow tied with the fan. I can hear the fan barely slow down by probably 5%, then that beep and the fan speeds up again. This happens continuously until I'm not idle. Anyone else notice this? My motherboard was replaced a month ago (It randomly died) but nothing changed.

Question to Samsung RF-711 owners
I have a question to people who have bought the Samsung RF-711 laptop.
What is the revision of your gear? Is it REV_04 with Stepping B2?
You can check it by typing in windows command prompt (start -> run -> cmd):
wmic idecontroller get deviceid
and in the returned string please search for REV_XX
Checking the stepping type is possible with ex. CPU-Z
I would be very thankful if you could provide me this information.

HP Notebook Fan Control in HWiNFO32 (ROUND 2 - AUTO FAN CONTROL CONFIG) !
The original Fan Control allowed to change the controller to Manual Control state and set the fan speed to any value.
This is the 2nd round of fan control which allows to modify the LUT (Look Up Table) which is activated when the controller is in automatic mode.
Supported notebook models remain the same as previously (those which contain the SMSC EMC2103 or SMSC EMC2113 controllers).
To activate this feature use the same method as disclosed in the previous thread. Now an additional Lookup Table is displayed. To access this table, the controller needs to be switched to manual mode.
The LUT consists of 8 different levels of fan control and each level is activated based on the value of any of the 4 displayed temperature thresholds (if any of these temperatures reaches the threshold value defined, the specified fan RPM value is activated). On some models (like the 8740w), only Temp3 is monitored and available to be changed. On some others, the External temperatures are included in the table as well.
Note, that on several models, the Temp3 doesn't contain a real temperature value (in degrees Celsius), but a PWM duty cycle instead which is a value supplied to the fan controller circuit. For example on 8740w it's the value sampled on the PWM_IN pin, on 8730 it's the value of Pushed Temperature 1. This value doesn't have a real correspondence to a fixed temperature value. Anyway, it's possible to modify this value (probably best would be some kind of guessing based on system observation). You can convert the PWM duty cycle into % by: ( value/128 ) * 100 [%]
If you make any changes to the LUT, pressing the "Apply and Save" button stores the values into the fan controller circuitry and switches to Automatic mode to activate them (the controller needs to be in the Automatic mode in order to use the LUT values). These settings are then remembered in the registry as well, so when you run HWiNFO32 again and open Sensors, the values set will be loaded into the chip. This means, that to have your custom settings always active (after a reboot), you should autorun HWiNFO32 with Sensors (because the fan controller is configured by BIOS). This has the advantage that the original settings are always restored during boot in case the user makes a mistake. If you wish to clear the custom LUT settings, press the "Clear Preferences" button in HWiNFO32 / Configure.
Sample screenshot (HP 8740w):
Sample explanation:
Rule 4: If the PWM_IN Duty cycle reaches 48 (37.5%), then fan speed is set to 3233 RPM.
Rule 5: If the PWM_IN Duty cycle reaches 64 (50%), then fan speed is set to 3510 RPM.
BE CAREFUL WHEN CHANGING ANY SETTINGS AND BE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING ! YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY POTENTIAL DAMAGE !
Download the latest HWiNFO32 release which supports this feature:
Please submit your feedback if/how this feature works !
Update: HWiNFO32 v3.69-1149 allows to modify the Fan Minimum Drive setting (the minimum fan speed in %, a value below this threshold is considered by the fan controller as invalid and can't be used).
Reply 1 : HP Notebook Fan Control in HWiNFO32 (ROUND 2 - AUTO FAN CONTROL CONFIG) !
I tested it and it works perfectly! Here's what was changed:
1. Fan 1649 - no changes
2. Fan 2318 -
3. Fan 2700 -
4. Fan 3233 -
5 and beyond - no changes
With the above changes the fan will kick in to 2700rpm @70C, and max@75-77C. Cooldown to 65C will reduce the speed from max to 2700rpm, and 55C will bring it to the default 1649rpm.
Thank you!

If you can open-source that piece, then Linux will be able to use its own EMC driver.
Also, on my 8530w, there are 4 editable columns; how do I know which things to set to what? The headers are: Temp1 (ext1), Temp2 (ext2), Temp3 (push1), Temp4 (int). Not all of those temperatures appear in the actual readings pane.
Reply 9 : HP Notebook Fan Control in HWiNFO32 (ROUND 2 - AUTO FAN CONTROL CONFIG) !
As for the 4 temperatures, if either of them crosses the threshold then it's activated. On these models it seems that Temp3 is the most important one..
In this case Temp1 is the External sensor diode 1, dunno where the diode is really located (could be under CPU), Temp2 is External sensor 2, Temp3 is pushed into the chip from some source (dunno which) and Temp4 is the Internal temperature of the EMC (mostly used as the motherboard temperature). You should see the values of these temperatures in HWiNFO32 sensors.

HP dv7t se delivery delayed twice. No proper reasons given
Estimated delivery was Mar 7th, which got delayed to Mar 18th, which is now delayed AGAIN to April 1st.
The sad part is I am not being given any proper answer (I escalated the issue!), except for a canned "parts shortage" from every talking head at their support center. They wont tell we what part (apparently they don't have that info from the warehouse!).
Are others facing delays in their delivery as well? Mine is a very generic configuration (nothing fancy), so am at my wits end to figure out why I will not have a laptop for ATLEAST 5-6 weeks after HP has charged money on my CreditCard (Feb 24th).

I would like to buy a Viao (2011 stuff) but i can't find the right one here's the thing :
I need Quad core (the 2.2 probably)
I need portable notebook ... 15" (around)
I need a good quality screen
I use 3ds Max and Photoshop and After effect
- I like the Vaio S, but it's not Quad core, I like the small look, sharp and clean
- The new Serie F is a bit too huge, don't want that thing on my thigh in the Bus/Metro etc... And i don't care about the 3d and after seeing some video of the new F, im not so sure about the quality screen !
- there a new EF on Canadian website of sony, but no info at all
- The serie C are... not quad core... not realy for work (well it could be fine i guess)
So... What left ? Wich serie should i wait for ?

4/27/2010- Original TV breaks and does not work at all
05/2010- 1st replacement TV has vertical lines, panel gets replaced
08/21/2010-1st replacement TV has lines in it again, panel gets replaced again
09/21/2010- Panel gets replaced a third time and shortly after get a nice white vertical line on it. I get a brand new replacement TV
03/06/2011- 2nd replacement TV has black horizontal line in it.
I just spoke with Customer Service in the Executive customer service department today and they advised me they could only replace the panel and they would be unable to replace the TV at this time.
BenQ Joybook A52 upgrades?
So, is there anyone else who is using BenQ Joybook A52 (or an ex-user)?
I bought new laptop some time ago, but my A52 is still alive and rolling like new. Wanted to talk about CPU upgrades - since I'll most likely sell it (people in Latvia like to buy old and expensive second-hand crap), I would like to experiment with it a little.
SINCE I work in computer service, I can get many different laptop CPUs, I dont know, if A52's motherboard support anything better than T2130.
At the moment I have Intel Pentium Dual Core T2130 1.86GHz CPU installed (stock), I was wondering, if its possible to get anything more powerful, because I cant find any useful information about this laptop's model anywhere on the Inthernet, and, as BenQ users have noticed, BenQ support sucks balls, so no useful info from them either.
So far I have upgraded HDD and RAM - now I have 250GB 7200RPM HDD and 2x1GB 667MHz DDR2 RAM (motherboard dont support more). Also I have upgraded WiFi card, because stock Atheros card was too weak, and DVD RW device - took one from dead HP with lightscribe.
I know that GPU is integrated and not upgradeable.
So, any success stories about upgrading A52 CPU?
P.S. I bet noone here even uses this model anymore, but why not give it a shot?

Do you have experience in upgrading the CPU of a laptop?

Edit: Also, you can get all the drivers through Vaio Care and/or Sony eSupport, so not sure what you meant by that part unless you are trying to load a different version of Windows, like Vista/XP/32-bit version. But it seemed your main concern is losing your data, so you can try the above data rescue or some other rescue software, then re-install Windows or do a full Recovery.

Edit: Just thought of another way, if you still have your rec partition, you can even hit the Assist button with the computer off and it will boot right into Recovery.

Like I said, you can find all your drivers in Vaio Care Recovery (the easiest way) or the Sony Support page for your model. I don't even know which country you are in so you can look that up for yourself.

Help me fix my laptop! Advent 6555 (MSI725) + USB port
1) My first issue is the screen bezel is cracked near the hinge on the bottom left, as a result the lid won't shut properly and obviously it is loose. Does anyone know where i can get hold of a screen bezel?
2) The laptop squeels and hums as a result of the fan, its either because there is something clogging the cpu fan or the fan is rubbish. I believe it is the second option and if this is the case where am i likely to be able to get hold of a better HSF ?
3) One of the usb ports has had the plastic insides fall out meaning that if you use it you can often make the pins touch inside and as a result the laptop will crash. Is it possible to get hold of laptop internal "holes"?

2. You can take out the fan, check the model number on it, then look for the same fan on ebay. Or you can try cleaning your fan. BTW rkcomputer might also have the right HSF.
3. Don't know what holes you're talking about.

However these forums are usually discussions about a problem you are trying to solve. I wonder if you are trying to find answers to text book questions.

closeup pic of expansion port 2 to count pins
It seems that expansion port 2 has 32 pins (exclude the thick 19v on the sides)
while expansion port 3 has 40 pins (exclude the thick 19v on the sides)
but yet you can plug in expansion port 2 into 3 or vice versa??
I found pinout of expansion port 3, but nothing for expansion port 2..

(all exclude the 19v power pins on the side ends)
I brought a broken docking station (the "line of resistors" overheating?? from listening to too much music?? don't know how to diagnose it), yet the plug plugs into the tx1000 fine.
1) I want to get the usb pin from the dock cable..
and then 2) try to interface the NEC usb chip so that the USB to serial converter can also be used. (and I would also get a usb 6 port hub from the 2 NEC chips.. if it was VIA, SIS I would not bother, but NEC makes good chipset)
I think the PR1010 is not for tx1000, but yet the plug fits 100%
I have another compaq laptop too but it does not have dock connector, that part is "covered"

My (short) journey w/ a Z13
Unfortunately, the machine didn't live up to my expectations or Sony's claim of 7 hours of battery life and I wanted to share a few points for folks like me who may be sitting on the fence deciding between a sandy bridge model and the current Z.
First, here's what I was looking for in a machine:
- Weight somewhere between 3 - 3.5lbs
- 12-13” screen w/ good colors, contrast, viewing angle
- Core i5 or better
- SSD (100gb+, don't need a huge one)
- 6-7 hour battery life for Windows (MacBooks don’t hit this)
- HDMI or digital output on the notebook itself (not via docking)
- Good keyboard and multitouch trackpad
The Z hits all of these on paper, but I found it lacking for a few reasons:
- Real-life battery life is nowhere near claimed @ 7hrs. 4 hours was typical.
- While it's a multitouch trackpad you have to find drivers and apps to get two-finger scrolling. It's finicky at best, mis-clicks were common. I'm used to Apple's trackpads under Windows. I imagine Lenovo's are better as well.
- Loose battery rattled while moving/carrying it. Not cool for a $1700 machine.
- No recovery DVDs? I don't like recovery partitions, let me use the 6 gigs!
- The screen, while great, was a bit too-high resolution for me. I'm not that old but 1600x900 was a bit too much. Most people will be fine with this, I wasn't. Running at a higher DPI setting was ugly. Lower res = blurry.
- The machine just felt 'cheap'. I'm used to MacBook and Lenovo chassis and the Sony doesn't live up here. Not saying that it isn't durable or wouldn't stand the test of time, but if I'm going to be typing on it every day I want something that is top notch.
Anyway, on to waiting for the sandy bridge models, looking at these machines:
- Lenovo x220 w/ IPS
- Sony Vaio SB Series (will the screen be any good?)
- Samsung 9 Series
Anyway, great forum and resources here no matter which brand someone ends up with. Comment/flame away
Edit: The machine went back to the Microsoft Store after a couple days. GREAT service from them.

Other than that, it seems the SA/SB series will look even cheaper, but that might be just me.

Other than that - should be at least as robust as the S, which IMO is very durable, especially the base (not to be compared with Lenovo T though - those are rather industrial machines).

In the end I found I actually do want the FHD screen... in the brief time I had it and even used it with RDP I found the resolution to be OK for me. So yeah, I understand it is a matter of personal preference... if I had decided the resolution was just too fine I would have gone to a 15" model of some kind instead.

Bottom line is. What else can you find with it's spec in a 13" 3lb or smaller package? You can't. The Z is the only game in town. Paying $1700 was too much. If you paid about $1000 would you have kept it?

- Lenovo x221 w/ IPS
- Sony Vaio SB Series (will the screen be any good?)
- Samsung 9 Series
Samsung 9 series will cost an arm and a leg..
Lenovo X221 is not out nor planned yet. Just the X220 with IPS screen will be released in early April (Reviews are out and outstanding)
Vaio SB is nice, but not as good I believe than the SA series that has yet to be released

Besides that "not as good as" means nothing unless you specify in what fashion you mean it. If the build quality is the same, there is no such thing as "as good as". There is only better configuration for more money.

Do realize the T420 will have Quadro graphics, not really suited for gaming unless you try to mod the GeForce drive inf.

I think I ended up getting the last laugh though, since I was a Public Affairs Officer at the time and was taking a local reporter on a tour. The reporter got a big kick out of it and ended up doing a second story on the sillyness of the military. Ft. Gordon was, at that time, the home of both the MP school and the Signal School. When the Post Commander saw the story that night over dinner, he ordered the MPs to paint lines extending from the stop sign into the lane of traffic so drivers could actually see where they were expected to stop -- and the MPs had to do the painting themselves. The Post Commander was SC and the common wisdom around post was that only the SC soldiers were getting these tickets (We a had different color registration sticker on our cars than those assigned to the MP school.) In order to "avoid tying up traffic" the Commander ordered the MPs to do the painting on weekends.
