On march 14th, Samsung published a new firmware. Same version (2.15) but dated march-14-2011 and this time the download is about 70MB instead of 36MB. Unfortunately, in its present state it's impossible to install the new firmware on my player.
I've made 3 calls to the wonderful Samsung's Assistance team, but they don't seem to know anything about this problem or about the new firmware (or anything about electronics at all). They keep telling me that they can't do anything because my player is out of warranty. But clearly my player is not defective, it's Samsung's firmware that has a major bug.
What can I do ?
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. The BD-P1600-XAC is the Canadian version of the player.

F1Prince,
Try turning the player on, and pressing and holding the STOP button for 15 seconds. Make sure the disc tray is empty.
If that doesn't work, the unit may need to be serviced. Do you have a transaction number from your call to service?

I've already try holding the FF button for 15 seconds but no effect, as I understand this is suppose to do a "reset to factory settings".
What does the "holding the STOP button" do ?
(I will try it tonight)
The assistance team gave me two case or file numbers : 2101176844 and 2101190564. Are those the transaction numbers you are asking for ?
Thanks in advance
