I think you should just start a single thread, instead of multiple threads with all the different questions.

X220 uses DDR 3 1333 mhz ram and 7 mm 2.5 inch hdd.

All is explained by the tabook.

Would these be good?

Newegg.ca - Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Laptop Memory Model KHX1600C9S3K2/8GX

What's the max amount of latency/best RAM I can buy?

RAM is RAM is RAM is RAM. There are only a few DRAM manufacturers these days, it's all about the end company with their warranty/RMA service. CAS latency and speed really does not make a real difference. I personally recommend Crucial/Corsair.

Will this work with the X220?

Newegg.ca - Intel 510 Series (Elm Crest) SSDSC2MH250A2K5 2.5" 250GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

I believe 0.37 inch > 9.4mm which is thicker than 7mm which is, what I read, the size of the X220 drive bay. It says so in the link that lead_org posted.

Btw, that drive costs more than I paid for my X200t.

So it won't fit?

The optimal solution in the new gen Thinkpads is to use the 40 or 80gb mSATA ssd for the boot drive and use the 7mm 320gb hdd for media storage.
